Aneeka was Behmor’s twin sister, his original Evro, and one of the great tragedies of the DeSilva bloodline. Although her life was comparatively brief by Immortalis standards, her death would shape the lives of Behmor, Nicolas, Tanis, and much of the wider family for centuries afterwards.

She was born to Nicolas DeSilva and the sorceress Kyrie, alongside her twin brother Behmor. Their birth was concealed from Nicolas after Kyrie discovered she was pregnant. Assisted by Lilith, who intended for the children to be raised only to be slaughtered, Kyrie attempted to remove them from Nicolas’s reach before he could discover their existence.

The twins were separated almost immediately.

Kyrie fled with Behmor, hoping to escape Lilith’s designs. Nicolas eventually tracked them to the cliffs and reclaimed his son. Unknown to him, however, enchantments placed upon the children during Kyrie’s pregnancy ensured that events would not unfold as simply as he intended. While Behmor was recovered and raised within Irkalla, Aneeka remained beyond his reach.

She was subsequently raised by Owuo and Kufia.

Unlike many of the children connected to the Immortalis, Aneeka did not grow up entirely isolated from her family. Owuo and Kufia permitted Nicolas to visit her, allowing a relationship to develop between father and daughter despite the unusual circumstances surrounding her upbringing. Although separated from Behmor, Aneeka remained an important part of Nicolas’s life. For perhaps the first time, he found himself invested in something beyond his own ambitions and schemes.

As Behmor’s Evro, Aneeka represented the counterpart he was born to possess. Together they formed a natural Vero-Evro pairing, linked by birth rather than circumstance. Yet that bond would never be allowed to develop fully.

When Aneeka reached the age of sixteen, Lilith enacted one of her many long-term schemes. Her execution was carefully staged before Nicolas himself. Whether the act was intended as punishment, humiliation, or simple cruelty ultimately mattered little. What mattered was that Nicolas was forced to witness it.

For all his power, he could do nothing.

The same enchantments placed upon the twins during Kyrie’s pregnancy prevented him from intervening successfully. The daughter he had finally found was taken from him before he could save her.

Aneeka’s death became one of the defining wounds of Nicolas’s existence.

While Nicolas was capable of surviving betrayal, war, humiliation, and countless personal losses, Aneeka’s execution struck at something deeper. It transformed his resentment towards Lilith into a hatred that endured for centuries beneath layers of patience, calculation, and madness. Even amongst the many grievances he held against his mother, Aneeka remained one of the few that never faded.

For Behmor, the loss was equally profound.

Although the twins had spent much of their lives apart, Aneeka remained his sister and his natural counterpart. Her death created an absence that could not simply be ignored. It was this absence that eventually led Nicolas and Webster to create Tanis from the preserved remains of fallen soldiers after all attempts to locate Aneeka within Irkalla failed. Tanis would become Behmor’s new Evro, but neither he nor Behmor ever truly replaced what had been lost.

Aneeka’s significance therefore extends far beyond the years she spent alive. Her death shaped the emotional landscape of the DeSilva family in ways that continued long after her execution. Without her loss, Tanis would never have existed. Without her death, Behmor’s relationship with Nicolas would have developed differently. Without her execution, one of Nicolas’s deepest hatreds would never have taken root.

Unlike many members of the Immortalis family, Aneeka is remembered less for what she did than for what was taken from her. She occupies a unique place within the family’s history. Not as a ruler, conqueror, or schemer, but as a possibility that was never allowed to reach its full potential.

Even centuries later, her absence continues to shape the lives of those she left behind.
