We boarded, my crewmen and I, on a bright day, Found the vessel floating aimlessly, drifting, Alone, lost in the Atlantic.
Clear skies, as the sun beat down, African coast, We took a craft to meet her, with tattered sails, And climbed on board.
A dated vessel of wood and rope, a haunting find, Beneath the decks fresh food sat disregarded, Abandoned whispers.
Whispers moved about us, yet so far and distant, Creaking boards, but all seemed in order, neat, Frighteningly empty.
Rocking from side to side, gently, invisible breeze,
Invisible crew with hushed voices, passing by, Strangers in another place, Or time.
All checks done we abandoned the ship, returned,
Called the coast to advise on our find, As we spoke, she slowly faded, Erased from our world.
